Binance put four new TradFi perpetual contracts live on October 12, extending its stock-and-ETF derivatives shelf into single equities for the first time. The contracts — ZCSHUSDT, MSTUUSDT, SNPSUSDT and RDWUSDT — track the Zcash ETF on NYSE Arca, the T-Rex 2x MSTR ETF on Cboe BZX, Synopsys shares on Nasdaq and Redwire shares on the NYSE. Every contract settles in USDT, trades around the clock, and permits up to 20x leverage. Listings went out in five-minute steps from 09:00 UTC.
That 5 USDT minimum notional is the number retail traders will notice first. At the 20x ceiling, the smallest position on any of the four contracts needs just 0.25 USDT of margin to open — the minimum trade size is 0.01 contracts with a 0.01 tick.
Funding settles every eight hours, the rate is hard-capped at ±2.00% per period, and the interest-rate component is set at 0%, so funding purely tracks the perp's premium or discount to its index. Binance also carved these contracts out of its 8.1 funding-interval rule, which means the cycle holds at eight hours even when the rate pins at the cap or the floor — any future change gets its own announcement. Multi-Assets Mode is supported, so margin does not have to be posted in USDT. At the ±2.00% cap, three daily settlements compound to a theoretical 6% of notional per day for the paying side. Funding rarely sits at the cap, but the ceiling bites hardest exactly when volatility peaks.
| Contract | Underlying | Cash-market venue | Max leverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZCSHUSDT | Zcash ETF shares | NYSE Arca | 20x |
| MSTUUSDT | T-Rex 2x MSTR ETF | Cboe BZX | 20x |
| SNPSUSDT | Synopsys, Inc. common stock | Nasdaq | 20x |
| RDWUSDT | Redwire Corporation common stock | NYSE | 20x |
Why it matters
This is the third leg of a rollout Binance began in January 2026, when it launched TradFi perpetuals on gold (XAUUSDT) and silver (XAGUSDT) through its ADGM-regulated entity Nest Exchange Limited. September added FX perpetuals starting with USDBRLUSDT, and shifted commodity contracts to near-continuous 24/5 trading. Equities and ETFs were the missing piece. The pattern is consistent: take an asset class that normally quotes 6.5 hours a day, five days a week, and give crypto traders a leveraged quote that never sleeps.
The MSTU contract deserves a closer look because it stacks leverage on leverage. MSTU is itself a 2x daily leveraged ETF on Strategy (MSTR) — so a 20x perpetual written on it can produce up to 40x effective exposure to MSTR's daily move. That is the kind of instrument where one volatile session can erase a position, and the funding cap math above is the other half of the risk. The Zcash contract is the crypto-native hook: an ETF holding a privacy coin, now shortable and leveragable around the clock on the world's largest crypto exchange. Meanwhile Binance's own research claims its gold perps called the Monday opening-gap direction correctly in roughly 89% of cases through April, and that its equity-linked perps captured more than half of combined weekend volume across major venues in September. Tonight's session starts generating the first real data for single stocks — even as regulatory scrutiny of the exchange continues on a separate track.
What to watch
- First funding prints on all four contracts — whether rates open near the ±2.00% cap or settle close to zero.
- Weekend behavior: with US cash markets closed, these perps become the only live quote on Synopsys and Redwire until Monday's open.
- Early open interest and volume versus Binance's crypto perps — the first real read on whether equity traders show up.
- Any change to the funding-interval exemption; Binance said future changes would be announced separately.
MarketRadar take
Neutral for crypto spot prices — this launch says more about Binance's business than about coin valuations. The exchange is systematically building a parallel 24/7 market for assets Wall Street only quotes during the cash session, and equities were the last major gap after metals and FX. For anyone trading these, the two numbers that matter are 20x and ±2.00% per eight hours — and on MSTU those ceilings compound into something far sharper than either figure alone.
