Both flagship tech indexes pushed to fresh records, yet the milestone is unevenly shared. Of the Magnificent Seven, only Nvidia has followed the Nasdaq into record territory — printing a fresh all-time high at $237.88, above its May peak of $236.54. The other names are stuck in their own battles: holding support lines or fighting back up through resistance.
Microsoft is the clearest example of a failed breakout attempt. The stock probed to $522.50 earlier, above its $513.50–$517.60 swing zone, but buyers could not hold the move and price rotated back inside. Now $513.50 is the line that must hold, and $517.60 the level to reclaim — while the $553.72 October peak and the $556.26 record from late July 2025 still sit far overhead.
Meta has repaired some damage. After sliding from its September 25 peak to around $713, buyers defended the upward-sloping 100-hour line near $715.32, and the bounce has carried it to $741.58. The next test is the $745–$760 swing zone; clearing it opens a path toward $780 and the $790–$796 2025 highs, capped by the $796.25 record.
Alphabet climbed back above its 200-day trend line near $338.92 after a dip to $335.61, but today's advance stalled at $345.77, just shy of the 100-hour average around $345.50. The September 22 failure above the 100-day average at $355.22 still hangs over the chart, and the $408.61 all-time high looks distant. Apple, meanwhile, is coiling between its 200-hour average near $327.32 (support, defended) and its 100-hour average near $335.48 (resistance), with the $345.34 September 21 record back in view only on a break above.
Why it matters
An index printing records does not mean every heavyweight inside it is healthy. The Nasdaq's run has been narrow enough that one name — Nvidia — carries the new-high banner while the rest grind. For traders, the lesson is to price risk stock by stock, not off the index headline. Nvidia's record run is the bullish tailwind for the whole complex, but Microsoft's rejected breakout and Alphabet's overhead supply at the 100-day average are real brakes on follow-through. What to watch
- Whether Microsoft holds $513.50 or the failed break turns into a deeper slide.
- Meta's push into the $745–$760 zone — acceptance there changes the short-term picture.
- Alphabet holding its 200-day line at $338.92; a second loss would invite sellers back.
- Apple's 100-hour average near $335.48 — a clean break above it targets the $345.34 record.
- Nvidia holding $230–$233.21; a slip below $230 would dent the breakout story.
MarketRadar take
The setup reads bullish for Nvidia and cautiously mixed for the rest: the chip leader has a clean breakout with old resistance turned support, while the other four must each prove themselves at clearly marked levels. Index highs driven by one stock can persist, but breadth improves only when names like Meta and Apple clear their resistance zones — until then, momentum chasers are paying up with little margin for error.
